Winter Storm Fern Updates

January 23 | 2:00pm – It may be sunny right now ☀️, but Central Ohio is preparing for a major winter storm this weekend! The storm could bring several inches of snow ❄️and extremely cold temperatures over the next few days, and the Orange Township Operations Crew is getting ready now.

Plow trucks are being filled with salt and fuel and will be ready to hit the roads. Township crews will work 12-hour shifts during, and after the storm to keep roads safe and passable. Snow plowing priorities begin with primary and secondary streets, followed by tertiary streets and trails.

Even with plows on the move, heavy snowfall can make removal challenging. Crews will begin treating roads with salt, but unfortunately, with temperatures expected to dip into the teens and below, salt may become less effective.

Please stay safe and warm this weekend. Remember to give plow crews plenty of space to work, move over, and slow down.
