The Fiscal Office accounts for and controls all township revenue and expenses.  It is responsible for the safety and distribution of township funds via forecasting, budgeting, monthly reporting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, purchasing, and payroll.

The township Fiscal Officer keeps an accurate record of the proceedings of the Board of Trustees at all its meetings.

Fiscal Officer

Lisa Kraft was first elected as Fiscal Officer in November 2019. Lisa brings 25 years of financial, operational and leadership experience to the role.  During her first 2 years in office, Lisa has eliminated unnecessary processes, increased security controls and improved the timeliness of the townships financial reporting.

In addition to serving as Fiscal Officer, Lisa serves the community in various volunteer positions.  She has been Co-President of the Freedom Trail Elementary School P.T.O. for the past 3 years and was awarded an Olentangy Service Award in 2020. She also volunteers as an Ohio State Alumni Scholars Program Juror as well as other community programs.

Lisa earned her BSBA from The Ohio State University and a MBA from the University of Dayton.  She also earned her Six Sigma Black Belt thru the American Society for Quality.  Lisa has been an Orange Township resident for 22 years. She and her husband Aaron have a son, Nathan.  Lisa enjoys her neighborhood bunco league, reading, golf and family trips to the beach.

The General Fund

The General Fund is the primary operating fund of the township and is used to account for all the financial resources except those required to be accounted for in another fund.  The General Fund is legally adopted by resolution and includes the operations of Administration, Building and Grounds, Zoning and Roads.

Special Revenue Funds

Special Revenue Funds are established to collect money that will be used for a specific project.  Special Revenue Funds provide an extra level of accountability and transparency to taxpayers that their tax dollars will go toward an intended purpose.  Some of the Special Revenue Funds of interest are:

Fire Levy

The Orange Township Fire Department operates on levies approved by voters, as well as proceeds coming from fees paid for service through insurance providers and non-residents of the Township.

Parks Levy

The Parks Levy fund operates on levies approved by the voters, most recently in 2022.  Levy funds are used to support the expansion and maintenance of the many parks and trails in Orange Township as well as the North Orange Aquatic Center.

Roads Levy

The Road Levy fund operates on levies approved by the voters, most recently in 2022.  Levy funds are used for road related expenses.  Additionally, the township has the following additional tax funds for road usage:

Motor Vehicle License Tax, Gasoline Tax, Permissive Motor Vehicle License Tax
