Orange Township Veterans Memorial

Giving honor to those who served.

United in Gratitude

Veterans memorials stand to honor those who served in uniform and the battles they fought to protect our nation’s freedoms. Our Township has established this fund to build a memorial, not only to honor those men and women who served, but also for the families who lost loved ones while serving our country. We want to honor the effort and sacrifice of those who have served, comfort those who have lost loved ones, and provide a site where people can remember and grieve as a community. It will also be a visible reminder for Veterans that their efforts and friends are not forgotten.

The planned location is within walking distance for over 3,000 students.  This is important as the memorial can serve as a historical touchstone, linking the past to the present and enabling students and others to remember and respect the sacrifice of those who died, fought, participated or were affected by conflict(s).  Our hope is the Orange Township Veterans Memorial can be an important source of information for young people in understanding the sacrifices made by past generations.

The Orange Township Veterans Memorial will be located at a key intersection in our township and is beside our original Township Hall (200 years old) and a township Fire Station.  It will have public parking available, as well as a walking path around the memorial. It will have landscaping and will include lighting for 24/7 access. The Memorial will be a site for future public activities supporting veterans, such as flag raising ceremonies, class field trips, and other veterans activities.
