Fire Levy, Thank You!

On behalf of the entire Fire Department, I want to extend my sincere thanks to our residents for voting yes on the recent fire levy. Your support ensures we can continue to provide the high level of service and protection our community depends on. This investment strengthens our ability to respond quickly, maintain essential equipment, and keep our firefighters trained and safe.

We are proud to serve you and deeply grateful for the trust you’ve placed in us.

Rope Rescue Operations Training

Over the last four days, our crews had the chance to work alongside the team at Crash Course Village in their Rope Rescue Operations training — and we can’t thank them enough.

The realistic scenarios and hands-on guidance not only sharpened our skills, but reminded us why training like this matters. We’re grateful for their time, knowledge, and commitment to helping firefighters be at their best.

Fire Department Capstone Completed!

?A big shout-out to three of our probationary firefighters who completed their capstone event this past weekend.

Firefighters Brandon Hewitt, Timothy Rushley, and Hunter Terry were evaluated on the skills they have developed over the past 10 months through a physically demanding course. We are proud to share that all three successfully passed and have earned their Orange Township fire shields.?

A special thank you goes to the Delaware Area Career Center for providing access to their training facility and to the Berlin Township Fire Department – Delaware County, Ohio for their support and assistance throughout the evaluation process.

Firefighters Save Ducklings

Last week, six ducklings fell through a storm drain on Spring Valley Drive. All six ducklings were returned to their mother, who waited patiently with her four other ducklings (10 total!) at the edge of the pond. Mallard ducks typically have 8 to 12 ducklings, so it’s hard work keeping track of all those babies. Congrats to Lt. Myers, Marcus Musser and Allan Hager (pictured holding 2 of the rescued ducklings).
