Parking is on the north side of the current Fire Station 362
The current location of the northeast corner of South Old State Road and Orange Road has seen many different buildings. This site was the original location of Orange High School which opened in 1916 and closed in 1969.
The intersection served as the “center” of Orange Township and the original Township Hall is still located on the corner next to the Veterans Memorial.
On May 4, 1981, the Olentangy Local School District presented the Orange Township Trustees with the deed to the Orange School Site.
Then, in 1984, the Trustees began designing the new Orange Township Public Service Facility, which would house the Orange Township Fire Department. A year later, they approved construction of the new firehouse on the site.
In February of 1986, construction of Fire Station 362 began.
Then in September of 1986, Fire Station 362 was finished and began operation. On Sunday, October 19th, 1986, they held their first Open House of the new building.
The station has stood in the same location for more than 40 years, undergoing numerous repairs and renovations. It has served the Fire Department well, but it is now due for a much‑needed upgrade.
Discussion for building a new Fire Station began in early 2025, then in April of 2026 the decision was finalized.
On May 28, 2026, the Fire Department hosted the groundbreaking ceremony for the new station, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the department.
Now, just 60 yards from the Old Fire Station 362, the new Fire Station is currently under construction.
