Fire Levy Information
Renewal Levy: A Vital Investment in Our Community’s Safety with NO NEW Taxes!
On November 5th, you will see the Fire Department on the ballot for a renewal levy that is critical for the safety and well-being of the community. The levy is a renewal of the 7-mil levy from 2013 and poses NO NEW taxes.
The renewal levy allows us to continue providing essential fire protection services to our community. These services include:
- Emergency Response: Prompt and efficient response to fire calls, medical emergencies, and other hazards.
- Fire Prevention: Education and outreach programs to prevent fires and accidents.
- Community Safety Initiatives: Programs to promote fire safety awareness and preparedness among residents and businesses.
Without the renewal levy, we would be forced to reduce our services and possibly close a fire station. This would put our community at increased risk and compromise our ability to protect you and your loved ones.
The levy will not increase your current tax rate. Instead, it will ensure that our fire department can provide the appropriate level of service to a growing community without interruption. We believe that investing in our fire department is an investment in the safety of our community.
We appreciate all the support and kindness that we receive daily from our community. We remain committed to providing the highest level of service to our residents and businesses.
This renewal levy generates 75% of the funds that are used to:
- Provide Staffing and Readiness: Maintain an adequate level of staffing of firefighters, in a growing community, that are always ready to protect the community and provide their best for your worst.
- Maintain Fire Apparatus and Equipment: Firefighting equipment, such as engines and protective gear, requires regular maintenance and replacement. The levy ensures our firefighters have the tools they need to effectively respond to emergencies.
- Support Firefighter Training: Continuous training is vital to keep our personnel up to date on the latest firefighting techniques and safety protocols.
- Fund Building Maintenance: Maintain our fire stations and facilities to optimal condition.
