The Township has recently been in contact with Rumpke regarding Sunday afternoon/evening wind storm debris. Rumpke indicated they will pick up bundled debris. The bundles can exceed the 4 foot size limit (approximately 4 to 5 feet) as long as the limbs etc. are properly bundled. This helps the carriers so they do not have to pick up debris individually also, the bundles cannot be too long/heavy to prevent injury to the carriers. This may result in a longer work day but Rumpke is committed to the cleanup process—Please understand that it may take a week or more to finish the cleanup process.

RUMPKE TRASH CONTRACT EXTENDED
On Tuesday, January 22, 2008, The Orange Township Trustees voted unanimously to extend the trash hauling contract with Rumpke for an additional three years. It should be noted that this agreement contains "all-inclusive" services, with NO extra charges for the quantity of garbage at a location; recycling; the pick-up of bulk items (such as furniture, etc.); yard-waste - properly packaged; or Christmas trees.
Prior to that meeting, negotiations with Rumpke had been conducted, regarding future pricing for township residents. The facts regarding Rumpke's increasing operational expenses over the next three years were given careful consideration, especially their rising fuel costs. The end result was a very modest increase, which will begin this February and will remain in effect through January, 2011.

Interestingly, Genoa Township followed our lead and entered into an "all-inclusive" contract with Rumpke, beginning in February, 2007, two years after Orange's action. Their current quarterly pricing, in effect until January, 2010, is $50.64.
COLLECTION DAYS:
Residents east of South Old State Road, including those on the east side of South Old State Road is Thursdays.
Residents west of South Old State Road, including those on the west side of South Old State Road is Fridays.

LEAF REMOVAL
Leaves will be accepted in the brown paper yard waste bags or an open container marked yard waste that the driver can empty into the truck. Paper yard waste bags may be purchased at Home Depot, yard waste stickers can be picked up at the Township Hall, 1680 E. Orange Rd., 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Yard waste can not be accepted in plastic bags because it is taken directly to a compost facility.
