Park Board
ORANGE TOWNSHIP COMMUNITY PARK BOARD
The Orange Township Community Park Board, an all-volunteer group, was originally formed in late 1998. By mid 1999 the committee had put together and distributed a survey to solicit the desires of the community for a park and the activities they would like a park to provide. Some of the top "wants" were a swimming pool, ball fields, hiking/biking trails and a community center.
As the committee began looking for land, Planned Communities proposed donating its green space (41 acres) from their North Orange development located on U.S. 23 in the Spring of 2000. In November of 2000 a 2.8 mil. levy passed for the development of that land which is now the North Orange Park and Aquatic Center.
The OTCPB has also helped direct the development of the Township Hall Park and offers support to the trustees as the township continues to develop bike/walking trails and future parks and park projects.
The OTCPB meets as scheduled at the township hall. You can find the schedule listed on the Agenda page. Residents are welcome and encouraged to attend.
