Orange Township Signs Agreement with Rumpke

Orange Township’s current agreement with Rumpke was set to expire on January 31, 2011. A competitive bid process took place to solicit proposals to provide residential curb-side garbage, yard waste, and recycling services. Rumpke was the successful bidder and will continue to provide the same services. The new agreement will go into effect on February 1, 2011.

The effective rate will be $15.75 per month.

Recycling bins are available at Township Hall from 8:00am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday.

COLLECTION DAYS:

Residents east of South Old State Road, including those on the east side of South Old State Road is Thursdays.

Residents west of South Old State Road, including those on the west side of South Old State Road is Fridays.

YARD WASTE REMOVAL

Yard Waste will be accepted in brown paper yard waste bags or an open container marked yard waste that the driver can empty into the truck. Yard waste bags/containers must be no heavier than fifty pounds. Paper yard waste bags may be purchased at your local retailer, yard waste stickers can be picked up at the Township Hall, 1680 E. Orange Rd., 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Rumpke will pick up bundled sicks/limbs. The bundles have a 4 foot size limit and cannot be too long/heavy to prevent injury to the carriers.

If residents have a large amount of sticks/limbs an alternate solution is Price Farms (formerly known as Price-Barnes Organics Ltd.) web site: http://www.pricefarms.org/ Click on the Rates tab for costs. Larger debris e.g. tree stumps etc. (items Rumpke cannot pick up) can be taken to Price Farms.

Yard waste cannot be accepted in plastic bags because it is taken directly to a compost facility.
