Street Tree Policy

RES.11-277 TO AMEND RES.036-96, REGARDING STREET TREE POLICY

Mr. Katz moved that Res.036-96 be amended to read as follows and that such amendment be immediately effective:

“RES. 036-96 STREET TREE POLICY

Effective immediately, Orange Township prohibits the planting or replanting of trees between sidewalk and curbs within the right-of-way in subdivisions. This is for safety reasons, access to utilities, potential property damage and access of emergency vehicles. However, trees can be planted or replanted on the other side of the sidewalk if at least 4 feet back from the sidewalk.”
